Mike Abatti is the Imperial Irrigation District Director representing Division 1, which includes El Centro and part of Calexico. He is 46. 

Abatti was elected to the board in the June 2006 primary election. He serves as an adviser on the district’s integrated energy resource plan. 

Born in El Centro, Abatti works as a farmer. He serves as general manager of BenAbatti Farms and owns Mike Abatti Farms, LLC. He holds degrees from Imperial Valley College and Colorado State University. 

Abatti has been active with St. Mary’s School Board preparing pit barbecue for St. Mary’s Church. He also has been active with Grace Lutheran Church, girls’ and boys’ softball, Sunbeam Little League, the children’s fair and the Imperial Halloween carnival. His community involvement also includes serving as coach for girls’ soccer.He and wife Kerri Ann live in El Centro. They have three children.  

Abatti’s term of office on the IID board expires December 2010.
