Brian J. Brady is the general manager of the Imperial Irrigation District. A registered civil engineer, Mr. Brady joined the district in April 2008. He has more than 30 years of engineering, management and organizational experience in the water and energy fields.
Before joining IID, Mr. Brady was the general manager of the Rancho California Water District in Temecula, Calif., where he introduced an aggressive integrated resource plan designed to meet increased municipal, industrial and agricultural sector needs.
From 1995-2000, Brady was chairman, president and CEO of the Dominguez Water Company, a Long Beach, Calif.-based company whose market capitalization rose by more than 250 percent in the first 36 months of his tenure. During that same period, annual shareholder returns averaged 33 percent.
Brady also has broad experience in the energy industry. He served as assistant general manager of Anaheim’s Public Utility District, directing the operations of that city’s electric utility from 1992-95. Prior to that, he spent nearly two decades with Southern California Edison, including a stint as chief operating officer of Energy Services Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of SCE.
Mr. Brady obtained his bachelor’s degree from Loyola Marymount University and has an MBA from USC. He earned his doctorate in organizational leadership from Pepperdine University.
