Brad Luckey is the Governmental & Regulatory Affairs manager for the Imperial Irrigation District (IID).
Luckey was hired by IID in November 1999 as executive officer. His primary function was to advance the interests, rights and plans of the District involving all relationships with private and governmental entities, industry, community groups and the general public. He also provided assistance to the general manager so that policies of the Board of Directors were fulfilled. Previous to his IID employment, Luckey was the chief executive officer, operations manager and owner of Luckey Farms, a diversified farming operation that produced alfalfa, alfalfa seed, wheat, cotton, Sudan grass, market onions, processing onions and carrots. A member of the Tolerance Reassessment Advisory Committee for the EPA and USDA; Luckey is also a member of the Imperial County Farm Bureau Board of Directors; the University of California Desert Research and Extension Center Research Advisory Committee; the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources Advisory Board to the Joint Policy Council; Planters Ginning Company Inc. Board of Directors; and Imperial Grain Growers Inc. Board of Directors, wehre he also served as past president. Luckey served as District 4 Supervisor for the Imperial County Board of Supervisors from January 1993 through December 1996. He was a member of the IID Water Conservation Advisory Board from March 1980 through May 1989 and a board member of the Imperial County Retirement System from July 1994 through December 1996. A native of Brawley, CA, Luckey attended California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo from September 1972 to June 1976. He majored in agricultural business management and agricultural engineering. Luckey is a patron member of the Water Education Foundation and a founding member of the California Alfalfa and Forage Assocation. He is also a past president and life member of the Navy League of the United States, Imperial Valley Council. He is a past exalted ruler and a member of Brawley Elks Lodge No. 1420. |
