Solar Energy, also known as Photovoltaic (PV) technology, converts sunlight into electricity which can be used to energize a wide variety of products. Groups of PV cells are electrically configured into modules and arrays, which can be used to power any number of electrical loads. With the appropriate power conversion equipment, PV systems can produce alternating current (AC) compatible with any conventional appliances, and operate in parallel with and interconnected to the utility grid.

IID Energy offers a $2.42 per watt incentive on qualifying PV systems. To learn more, click on the following link to review the IID Energy's PV Rebate Application and Reservation Confirmation Form.

The state of California has passed laws to make the process of interconnecting photovoltaic or wind-powered generation systems as simple and economical as possible. This legislation also provides for "eligible customers" to receive the additional benefits provided by a billing process referred to as Net Energy Metering. In support of these objectives, IID has tailored its tariff rates and interconnection requirements to facilitate this process.
