Energy Resources / Energy Department - About IID Energy -
Each year, our Energy Resource Team gathers the most dependable information available on growth trends from the cities, county, developers, key commercial customers and other sources. Using this data, we forecast energy demand for the current year and 25 years into the future. This forecast includes: • The peak load forecast which predicts the highest expected use for each year
• The energy forecast that calculates how much energy all of our customers combined will use in a one-year period
The Integrated Resource Plan is developed using these two forecasts to develop a power supply strategy to cover our energy forecast, the expected peak loads, plus an additional 15% reserve requirement. To meet our Renewable Portfolio Standard goal, our Energy Resource Team has also developed a plant to acquire renewable resources to meet the 20% renewable resource delivery requirement in 2010 and 30% in 2020. Renewable forms of energy include hydro, wind, solar, or geothermal. Senate Bill 1305, statutes of 1997c requires IID Energy to disclose the energy resources we use to generate the electricity we sell. Click on the following link to view our Power Content Label. |
