Dear IID Energy Customer:  

Summer preparation is something IID Energy takes very seriously, and it’s something we work towards all year long. Securing adequate energy resources, we continuously perform preventative maintenance on the electrical system and make sure all components are ready to handle the increased capacity needed in an extreme desert climate such as ours.  

But summer preparedness is a team effort—once again we are asking our customers to help reduce electric demand during the peak hours when energy consumption is at its highest and resources are most expensive.  

Once of the easiest ways to do this is to shift use of major appliances away from the hours between 1-7 PM. This practice eases demand on our electrical system and reduces the amount of expensive energy resources IID Energy is required to purchase, thus lowering costs for all ratepayers within our service territory.
