As a consumer-owned utility, IID Energy works to efficiently and effectively meet our customers’ demands at the best possible rates, tying our area’s low-cost of living directly with low-cost utilities. We accomplish this by producing 30 percent of our power supply locally, using efficient, low-cost hydroelectric facilities, steam generation facilities, as well as several natural gas turbines. We emphasize environmentally friendly operations by employing as many “green” resources as available. Our diverse resource portfolio provides our customers with some of the lowest cost rates in the state.
