According to the Department of Energy, the average household in the U.S. spends about $1,300 on energy each year. Some households have cut their energy bills in half by installing energy conservation measures, practicing effective energy conservation habits, and using energy-efficient appliances.

IID and The Gas Company are working with community-based organizations and licensed contractors to offer no-cost energy-saving home improvements to eligible* renters and homeowners.

Examples of NO-COST home improvements may include:

  • Compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs)
  • Ceiling insulation
  • Water-heater blankets
  • Faucet aerators
  • Low-flow showerheads
  • Minor home repairs
  • Limited appliance repair or replacement services

For more information, please contact one IID’s Public Programs department 1-(760) 339-9033.

*Participation in the Residential Energy Assistance Program is required.
