(LA QUINTA, Calif.) – IID Energy, the 6th largest electrical utility in California, named John M. Federowicz to the position of deputy manager.

IID Energy Manager Glenn Steiger introduced Federowicz to the Board of Directors Tuesday at the Board's regular meeting here. He began his new job earlier that morning. The new deputy manager "has excellent experience in the areas where we need it," said Steiger. He has a background in all phases of electric utility operations including construction projects, customer service and information systems.

"My immediate reaction is very positive," Federowicz said. "I see a lot of positive energy here and I'm glad to be a part of an organization that's excited about all the growth that's going on in both the Coachella and Imperial valleys."

Federowicz will oversee the day-to-day operations of IID Energy, including internal operations, customer service, construction, maintenance and generation.

Federowicz has a degree in civil engineering from Penn State University and several years of experience with Pennsylvania Power and Light (PP&L). As area operations manager for one of six regions, Federowicz was in charge of design, construction, maintenance, operation, restoration, new customer hook-ups, rightof-way and trouble calls. His experience at PP&L also allowed him to develop his skills with customer information and management systems and Geographical Information Systems.

"We have a lot of work to do to keep up with the growth we are experiencing in both Imperial and Coachella valleys," said Steiger. "We are confident that John will help us with the organizational challenges that come with growth and the day-to-day operational needs of our customers." Federowicz and his wife come to Imperial Valley from Allentown, PA. They have three children. IID Energy is experiencing about a 5 percent or higher growth rate in the areas it serves.
