The Regulatory Compliance Unit uses the Environmental Management System to oversee, direct and evaluate the performance of many subordinate Programs that collectively constitute the Districts environmental policy.  The Unit facilitates many of the Programs, but must rely on many diverse sectors of the organization performing unique functions to generate an organization-wide systems approach to environmental management.  The District works closely with regulatory agencies (see regulatory links below), environmental organizations, local communities, and other interested parties to meet established environmental goals and objectives.  We are committed to participating with our community (customers) to both protect and enhance the environment.
