2009-2010 Fallowing Program / Water Department- Water Conservation - Water Conservation Implementation - Fallowing Programs -
The 2009-2010 Fallowing Program solicitation process, initiated on October 20, 2008 closed as of noon on November 25, 2008. Solicitation announcements and fallowing proposal forms were mailed to all IID landowners and tenants, and were also made available online (see below). IID received over 310 field applications comprised of approximately 28,200 acres of agricultural lands. The applications were sorted based on a random selection process and processed for eligibility. Water delivery data was then analyzed to determine contract values. The contracting process began in January 2009 and was completed in May 2009. IID has met its current Fallowed Water Requirement and does not anticipate implementing a pilot calendar year fallowing program in 2010 as previously discussed. The next solicitation process, for fallowing programs that will begin on July 1, 2010, is scheduled for Fall 2009. Announcements regarding future fallowing programs will be posted to this website, publically noticed, and advertised as in previous years. Thank you in advance for your participation in the 2009-2010 Fallowing Program. IID appreciates your voluntary efforts as it works to meet the water transfer and delivery schedules outlined in both the QSA and the IID/SDCWA Water Conservation and Transfer Program. Additional questions should be directed to the IID Fallowing Hotline at (760) 339-9898.
