Water Department- Water Conservation - Equitable Distribution -

In December 2007, the IID Board of Directors adopted Regulations for an Equitable Distribution Plan (Plan).  This plan is a set of rules and procedures to be implemented in a year the Board declares a water Supply/Demand Imbalance.

When a Supply/Demand Imbalance year is declared, an apportionment of water will be offered to all eligible fields within the IID.  This may affect farming operations; therefore IID will offer a pilot program in 2008 to test the Equitable Distribution Plan without penalties or water shortages to those who participate.

This is your opportunity to understand how the Equitable Distribution Plan may impact your operations and help prepare you for a year when a Supply/Demand Imbalance is declared.

IID Resolution No. 31-2007: Relating to the Equitable Distribution of Water

For more information, or to find out how to participate, please review the letter below. Please note: IID is still accepting participants or interested farmers for the Equitable Distribution Pilot Program even though the correspondence letter mailed in latter April and attached below indicate a May 5, 2008 deadline.
