How to Read Your Bill / Water Department- Irrigation & Drainage Services - Water Services -
A redesigned water bill statement has been developed to improve the reporting of IID water user charges and consumption. The core change to the statement is that billing is now reported separately from consumption to improve the presentation and understanding of the information. Farm unit apportionment balances, field apportionment details, apportionment adjustments and daily consumption details are also reported with greater detail. This redesign is to assist IID customers at managing field apportionment in years when a Supply/Demand Imbalance (SDI) is in effect. On September 22, 2009 the 2009 SDI was rescinded by the IID Board of Directors and no SDI was declared for 2010. However, the water bill statement continues to evolve to accommodate those years when an SDI is declared to assist users with tracking water use and apportionment balances. The development and design of the new statement is the result of recommendations from farm water users who are members of the IID Water Conservation Advisory Board. Below is a sample water bill statement with definitions to assist with the understanding of each item being reported on the new statement.
