The 2017 Open Enrollment Period is Nov. 7, 2016 through Nov. 30, 2016. This is your opportunity to enroll in, change or drop Dental and/or Vision insurance programs, add, change, or drop dependents, enroll in the Flexible Spending Account programs (must re-enroll each year) for the Health Care and/or Dependent Care Spending Accounts and review and/or update your beneficiary information.
Please note that employees will be allowed to waive medical coverage. In order to waive coverage, you will be required to show proof of other group health coverage and you will be required to sign a declination of medical coverage form.
Everyone must process their 2017 open enrollment information through the internal Employee Self-Service system. Employees can process their open enrollment paperwork using their work computer, a computer at one of the many “kiosks” located throughout the district or by using any computer that has an Internet connection. (Please note: if you intend to access the ESS system remotely, make sure to contact the IID Helpdesk for the login procedures to the virtual private network).
Representatives from Employee Optional Insurance (those who provide cancer insurance, life insurance, critical illness insurance, etc.) will be available to help you with ESS. The EOI reps, while helping with optional insurance matters, will also be serving as an extension of the Benefits staff this year, providing one-on-one contact for anyone who would like or need help. EOI representatives will be available at the IID Headquarters (P-4 Trailer) every day starting Nov. 14 through Nov. 23 (see schedule below for times and locations). Employees can schedule an appointment with an EOI representative using the automated appointment scheduler at http://iid.schedapple.com.
Benefits staff reminds all employees not to ignore open enrollment, reiterating that everyone must use the ESS process or their 2017 benefits could be jeopardized. Everyone, even those people who don’t have any changes, don’t flex or aren’t part of the programs must still participate in open enrollment. No one’s benefits will automatically roll over from year to year.
