With the EZ PAY program, you can have your monthly electric bill automatically deducted from your designated checking or savings account. To get started, print and complete the authorization form [PDF]. Once completed, return the form to IID along with a voided check. IID will inform your financial institution of the amount due each month and the bank will automatically deduct that amount from the pre-designated account on the amount due by date shown on the lower portion of the statement.
You will receive your bill monthly showing the amount due and the date due. Payments will be itemized on your monthly banking statement. There is no charge to sign up for EZ PAY, but a $20 fee will be assessed to electric bills for insufficient funds. If a payment is rejected by a financial institution more than three times within a 12-month period, IID reserves the right to terminate your participation.
Average Bill Payment Plan
To avoid erratic power bills, customers can take advantage of our Average Bill Payment Plan. The plan works as follows:
- Your average bill is determined by totaling your power bills for the past year, adding an inflation factor, and dividing by 12
- For the next 11 months, you will be billed according to the new averaged bill amount
- Each month your meter is read as normal and you will receive a statement reflecting the usage, but billing the averaged amount
- In your 12th month of participation, you will receive a settlement statement which should be close to the averaged amount. However, an increase or decrease in consumption may cause a larger settlement or a credit
