Please note: Fees for Customer Service Proposals have changed and will affect interconnection applications received after October 31, 2016. For a complete list of new prices please visit: www.iid.com/CSPpricingsheet

IID wants to ensure that your electrical generating equipment is interconnected with the power grid in a manner that’s safe and reliable.

Before moving forward with the interconnection process, it’s important to understand that IID’s previous compensation program, Net Energy Metering (NEM) has reached its cap and is closed and any new applications received for interconnection will be processed and compensated through IID’s new Net Billing Program, unless it falls within one of the extension categories listed above and meets the submittal requirements.

FAQs

  1. I submitted my interconnection application, but how do I know which program it will be processed through?

Net Energy Metering– Although the NEM Program reached its cap in early 2016 and is closed, there are still projects pending completion. If your project is one of these, you and/or your contractor has received correspondence from IID regarding the pending documents.

Net Billing – If your application was submitted after the NEM cap was reached, correspondence has been sent to you with the new Net Billing contract. Please complete the contract at submit at your earliest convenience to allow IID to continue with the processing of your interconnection of your project.

  2. What is the difference between the two programs?
The principal difference is the rate schedule at which your generation will be compensated. Please click on the following resources to learn more about the specific program rate schedules.
    NEM rate schedule
Net Billing rate schedule (Distributive Self-Generation Service)

  3. How do I find out the status of my project?
