Job Description Overview

Primary Function:
Under general supervision, provides technical and professional staff assistance; coordinates and assists with the administration and coordination of disability management programs, workers compensation programs and medical benefits plans and ensures program processes are in compliance with applicable federal and state laws, mandates guidelines, district policies and procedures; assists employees in accessing workers’ compensation, short-term and long-term disability benefits; informs and assists employees and management on all aspects of the disability management process; reports budget expenditures, compiles and prepares statistical data, conducts studies and surveys; assists with maintaining employees medical benefits and service records, responds to employee inquiries and ensures effective service to customers. Performs other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with a major in business, public administration, human resources management or other related field and one year of progressively responsible experience performing paraprofessional human resources related functions including disability management, worker’s compensation, and medical benefit administration, or other human resources technical duties.

Progressively responsible related experience may be substituted for the required education at the ratio of two years of experience equals one year of education in performing paraprofessional human resources related functions including disability management, worker’s compensation, and medical benefit administration.

Specific Skills/Requirements: 


Licensing and Certification Requirements:
A valid driver's license issued by the State of California, Department of Motor Vehicles is required.

An official current driving record (obtained within the last six months) from your local State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or from official DMV website must accompany job application (no third party records accepted).
