Director Gina Young Dockstader is the IID Director currently representing Division 3, which includes Brawley, Calipatria, Niland, and the southeastern  area of the Salton Sea. Elected by the public to the IID Board in the November 2022 runoff election, Director Dockstader has also served as the Board’s Chairwoman in 2025, becoming one of the few women in the District’s history to hold the position.

Director Dockstader serves as the District’s alternate on the Colorado River Board of California, is IID’s representative on the Salton Sea Conservancy Board, serves as president of the Salton Sea Authority, is on the advisory committee for the Family Farm Alliance, Vice Chair of the California Farm Water Coalition, and has served as a director for Region 9 of the Association of California Water Agencies.

Director Dockstader is an agribusiness woman. Prior to her service on the IID Board, she managed her father’s farming office, started a trucking company, owns an organic date farm, and is a partner in a farming entity and an organic packing house outside of Brawley.

A fourth-generation Imperial Valley resident, she attended local schools and graduated from Calipatria High School. She furthered her education at Northern Arizona University, where she majored in Public Relations and minored in Business Management and Spanish.

Director Dockstader is a member of her local PEO sisterhood, a philanthropic and educational organization dedicated to furthering the careers of women.

She resides in Calipatria. Her current term as IID director runs through December 2026.
