Real Estate ImageThe real estate section is responsible for the administration of all IID real estate activity. Functions consist of the acquisition and disposition of IID lands and facilities, including rights of ways, easements, permitting and property management. The section maintains IID’s land title documents (deeds), agreements, leases, permits and official maps, as well as administers and negotiates property leases and agreements for the benefit of IID.

Encroachments, Permissions, and other Permitting

Upon proper submittal, IID may allow for the installation, operation, and or maintenance of permanent and/or temporary facilities on IID real property and/or within its rights of way and easements. Click here for an application and instructions.

Quitclaims, Easements and Rights of Way

Easements and rights of way of record where there is no present or foreseeable need, may be relinquished to the property owner of record. Requests for relinquishment shall be made in writing to the real estate section. All requests for relinquishment necessitate the final approval of the IID Board of Directors.

Requests for Irrigation Delivery Abandonments

A property owner may make application to abandon a raw water facility within the IID’s irrigation delivery system. Click here for an abandonment request application [PDF]

Land Records

IID’s real estate section maintains property ownership records within IID's water boundary service area based on information provided by both public and private agencies in order to define title, water rights and water availability. 

Certification of Safe Drinking Water

Contractors and Property Owner’s use for complying with the State mandated Safe Drinking Water Act. Click here for a checklist of requirements necessary to authorize your application. These items must be met prior to certification, and before your Imperial County building permit may be issued.
