Filing a Claim for Loss or Damage

Disclaimer: Submission of a claim does not constitute an admission of liability by the Imperial Irrigation District. All claims are subject to review and investigation in accordance with applicable law.

If you have experienced personal injury, property damage, or other losses and believe the Imperial Irrigation District (IID) may be responsible, please review the information below before submitting a claim.

IID works to review and respond to all claims promptly, typically within 45 days, once we receive both the completed claim form and all supporting documents. To help us process your claim efficiently, please include copies of receipts, invoices, purchase orders, photographs, or any other documentation that supports your claim.

Under the California Tort Claims Act:

  • Claims for wrongful death, personal injury, damage to personal property, or damage to growing crops must be filed within six (6) months of the incident.
  • Certain other claims must be filed within one (1) year of the incident.
