GLOW Grant Program

Imperial Irrigation District is proud to introduce the Green Lighting for Outdoor Wellness (GLOW) Grant Program, now available to help communities modernize outdated sports facility lighting.

Program Overview

The goal of the program is to promote energy efficiency amongst non-residential customers, including local governments, non-profit organizations, community colleges, and school districts, in upgrading their sports complex lighting to high-efficiency LED systems. 

Grant Details

• Annual grant awards of up to $35,000
• Covers materials, taxes, shipping, and labor
• Available to IID electric customers paying the Public Benefits Charge
• Projects must involve the installation of new, unused LED lighting systems
• No second-hand, refurbished, or rebuilt equipment will be accepted

Project Eligibility

To qualify, lighting projects must:

• Retrofit or replace outdated lighting systems
• Use new, energy-efficient LED fixtures
• Serve facilities with systems older than 10 years or that fail to meet current energy standards
• Be ready to begin within calendar year 2025

Timeline

• Application Period Opens: April 2, 2025
• Application Deadline: May 22, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. PST
• Award Notification: June 30, 2025
• Project Completion Deadline: December 12, 2025
• Final Documentation Due: December 19, 2025
