Imperial Irrigation District has scheduled two public hearings in September on a proposed plan to mitigate wildfire dangers in the utility’s service area.

Under Senate Bill 901, the district is charged with obtaining public comments on a plan that addresses wildfire risks related to electrical infrastructure to establish programs and procedures to reduce risk, prepare for wildfire events and develop program oversight.

The new law was adopted following the fires of 2018 that devastated several areas of California.

The public hearings on IID’s wildfire mitigation plan will be held:

4:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 17, 2019
Condit Auditorium, 1285 Broadway, El Centro

4:30 p.m., Thursday, September 19, 2019
IID Boardroom, 81-600 Avenue 58, La Quinta
