Green Grants are available to non-profit organizations located in IID's service area. Funding is limited to energy efficiency/management upgrades and investments in renewable resources that are not covered under any other existing public benefit program offered by IID.
Applicant must be a non-profit entity. This includes educational institutions and government agencies.
Proposed project must align with one of the four key funding areas:
a. Energy efficiency/management upgrade
b. Income qualified assistance
c. Renewable resources
d. Research, development and demonstration of emerging energy management technology
Each project may qualify for up to $2,500* per calendar year.
*Exceptions will be made on a case by case basis at the discretion of the advisory committee.
How to get started
Please submit an interest letter detailing the request for funding to IID. The letter should include the following information:
- Estimated number of people that will be reached through proposed project
- Overall project goal
- Amount of funding requested
- Short description of the organization or entity requesting the funding
- Proposed time line
