We know COVID-19 is creating financial hardship for some of our customers, and we’re committed to making sure they have electricity during this uncertain time. To help, IID will not disconnect electricity to any customers for non-payment, until further notice. Customers who are behind on payment will still owe IID for services provided, however they will not be disconnected during this state of emergency. Please visit our COVID-19 page for more information.

Interconnection of a generating facility to the IID transmission system is governed by the district's Open Access Transmission Service Tariff. The interconnection process, among other things, involves the study of your project (serially or in a cluster) to determine the impacts of the energy it proposes to inject upon the reliability of the IID grid. The study also identifies upgrades to the IID network that may be required to accommodate the injection of energy.

To determine the steps required to interconnect a generating facility to the IID system, please visit IID’s OASIS website or contact IID's Interconnect Transmission Contracts team.

Please note that interconnection of a generating facility to the IID system does not guarantee transmission service. Separate arrangements are required for transmission service. Please refer to the Transmission Service page.
