Organized in 1911 under the California Irrigation District Act, the Imperial Irrigation District is governed by a publicly elected five-member board of directors. IID exists to serve its customers. As such, its dual mission of delivering water and electrical power to the communities within its service area is carried out with a public purpose. The business of IID is, by definition, the people's business.
IID Board of Directors meetings start at 1 p.m. and are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month. These meetings take place in the William R. Condit Auditorium, at 1285 Broadway, in El Centro.
Quarterly meetings are held in the La Quinta Boardroom, at 81-600 Avenue 58, in La Quinta.
