You may have an opportunity to help remove graffiti from your community by painting residential transformers operated by the Imperial Irrigation District. With the explicit authorization of IID you may paint residential transformers with standard green paint supplied by the district.

What kind of energy equipment is eligible for painting?

Only residential transformers that are part of the IID power distribution system, located in residential areas, are eligible for painting by someone other than IID staff. This equipment is installed above ground, bolted to a concrete pad and covered with a locked metal box.

Who can paint IID residential transformers?

Agencies, established community beautification organizations, homeowner associations and property owners, hereinafter known as Community Organizations, may paint residential transformers, provided they have the explicit written authorization from the Imperial Irrigation District.

IID provides graffiti removal service free of charge. Home owners and businesses may call 1-800-303-7756 to request service
