Even with rooftop solar, you will still need a reliable energy source for your family’s comfort and safety. Although you install a rooftop solar system, in most cases, you will still be connected to the IID electrical grid. You will continue to rely on IID’s electrical grid to provide you with electricity when your system isn’t producing sufficient generation to meet your family’s demands, such as on cloudy days, at night and during the summer.
Each month, you will continue to receive a monthly statement and you will continue to be charged a monthly Customer Charge, applicable fees based on your city/county as well as a bill for the amount of energy you consume that isn't offset by your solar system's generation.
