Did you know that IID offers financial assistance to help with delivery costs of drinking water to qualifying small acreage pipe customers?

Under IID’s Water Delivery Assistance Program, the district will help pay for the monthly costs of water delivery services to a customer’s home.

In order to take advantage of this program, you must also be enrolled in IID’s Residential Energy Assistance Program, which provides qualified customers a discount on their electric bill. The income qualifications for both programs are as follows:

Maximum Household Income (Effective as of January 1, 2020)
No. of Persons in Household Combined Annual Household Income
1-2 $33,820
3 $42,660
4 $51,500
5 $60,340
Each Additional Person $8,840

If you are a small acreage pipe account customer and currently receiving the REAP electric discount, IID encourages you to apply for the Water Delivery Assistance Program. To apply, please call us at 1-760-339-9191.

Water Providers that qualify for the Water Delivery Assistance Program:

Customers are reminded that they must continue to receive bottled or bulk water delivery service on a year-round basis in order to maintain their canal water connection. Water users who fail to do so will be disconnected from IID’s canal water system.

Continuing Successful Compliance

Customer involvement continues to be the key to the long-term success of the drinking water compliance agreement between IID and the State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Drinking Water.

Through much effort and customer participation, IID has achieved the milestones outlined in the agreement, satisfying California Safe Drinking Water Act exclusions.

In accordance with these regulations, IID’s untreated canal water should not be used for drinking and cooking purposes. Customers who have canal water service to their homes (small acreage pipe accounts) must provide documentation that their water needs for drinking and cooking purposes are being served by an approved water provider that delivers an alternative water supply suitable for these purposes.

Thanks to compliance by small acreage pipe account customers, IID continues to provide canal water service.
