2020 Local Entity Disbursement Allocations

At its November 17, 2020 and December 1, 2020 board meetings, staff was directed to implement grant contracts to 39 local businesses, non-profits and public agencies, to infuse a total of $760,000 into the community. 2019 Local Entity Disbursement Allocations

On November 5, 2019 the IID Board of Directors authorized grant awards to 29 local businesses, non-profits and public agencies, authorizing a total of $627,000 in grant awards for Imperial Valley. 2017 Local Entity Funding Program

The 2017 funding program was authorized by the IID Board of Directors on June 27, 2017. While the available funding for this mitigation program was approximately $5 million, over 125 letters were submitted with proposal funding requests totaling nearly $45 million. Awards were authorized to 43 local businesses, non-profit organizations and public agencies for a total of $4,290,450 in grant awards. Farm Service Provider Non-Competitive Mitigation Program

The non-competitive mitigation program is designed to help offset the negative socioeconomic impacts to farm-service providers caused by the fallowing program.

2019 Local Entity Final Disbursement Allocations

Despite a 2017 authorization for a second disbursement of Local Entity funding for farm service providers, approximately $1.6 million in non-competitive mitigation funding remained. At its July 9, 2019 board meeting, staff was directed to develop a final disbursement schedule for the remaining balance based on a proration of the previous funding allocations to farm service providers associated with this program. 2016 Non-Competitive Mitigation Program

Update - August 17, 2017

The Local Entity received 52 application packets containing around 2,500 claims covering more than 6,000 activities. Local Entity staff and coordinators have reviewed each claim for compliance with the RFP.

In accordance with the action adopted by the Imperial Irrigation District Board of Directors acting as the Local Entity on June 6, 2017, authorizing an appeal process in reference to the disqualification of grant proposals submitted under the 2016 Non-Competitive Mitigation Program, we are hereby notifying appellants and their representatives of the following:

The appeal period closed effective Wednesday, June 7, 2017 and a final claim listing with appeal outcomes of the appeal hearing hosted on July 19, 2017 can be accessed thru the link below.

On August 23, 2016, IID acting as the Local Entity proposed the 2016 Local Entity Non-Competitive Mitigation Program Request for Proposal (RFP). This program mitigates the negative economic impacts created by the fallowing program implemented during the periods 2014-2015, 2015-2016 and 2016-2017.

The application submission period ended at 5 p.m. on Dec. 5, 2016. For more details, please see the 2016 Local Entity Mitigation RFP.

2014 Non-Competitive Mitigation Program
On June 17, 2015, IID acting as the Local Entity approved the 2014 Local Entity Non-Competitive Mitigation Program Request for Proposal (RFP). This program mitigates the negative economic impacts created by the fallowing program implemented during the periods 2011-2012, 2012-2013, & 2013-2014. 

The 2014 Local Entity Non-Competitive Mitigation Program made a disbursement of $7,983,063.00 to qualified farm service providers and displaced tenants who were directly impacted by agricultural land fallowing that occurred between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2014.
